Top Adventure Towns: What are the best outdoor meccas in the Mid-Atlantic
and Southeast?
Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine announces 80 finalists in four categories for its eighth annual Top Adventure Towns Contest, brought to you by Sweetwater Brewing Company
The Mid-Atlantic and Southeast boasts many towns with vibrant outdoor scenes and access to world-class adventure. In August and September, our readers will select their favorites. Which will be crowned the region’s best towns for outdoor adventure? The Blue Ridge Outdoors team narrowed the field to 80 contenders for the eighth annual Top Adventure Towns Contest, brought to you by Sweetwater Brewing Company. They are mountain biking meccas, whitewater oases, climbing paradises, hiking nirvanas, booming craft beer scenes, and music hubs. Starting August 19, readers will select the top outdoor town in four categories: large town (population 75,001+), medium town (population 16,001 – 75,000), small town (population 3,001 - 16,000), and tiny town (population less than 3,000). The four winning towns will be featured in the November/ December issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine.
“Outdoor adventure is the lifeblood of this region, and our readers have their fingers on the pulse,” says editor in chief Will Harlan. “We’re hoping that folks rally around their favorite outdoor towns and help us showcase the best outdoor destinations.”
